It is difficult to put in to words what it is like to be a part of someone’s proposal. Exciting just does not seem to cut it!!

Samantha has been planning this for months. She reached out to be and I basically flipped out immediately because I knew this was going to be one of the most special sessions I have done so far. We devised a plan (insert: MWAHAHAH) and I pretended to ask Tasha and Sam in a group chat if they would be willing to do a photo session with me since I needed more practice and examples of photos with same-sex couples. Tasha was ALL for it!!

I do not want to give away some of the other tricks we used to pull all of this off incase I get to use those tricks on you one day;) But, I will let the photos and a few captions show you how magical this rooftop proposal really was!

These two found each other. They found love. She liked it and she put a ring on it.

First things first, I had a little pre-date with the family about 30 minutes before the shoot. YUP! Family and friends were there ready to share the magic. Tasha has no idea!!

And so we begin just like any other session. Lots of smiles, little posing tips, and hunting for the good light.

We moved around to a slightly different area of the rooftop so Nick could sneak the ring out of Samantha's purse. I set up a little scenario that had Tasha looking at me so Nick could slip the ring to Samantha. The best part about this is Nick took a REALLY REALLY long time to hand the ring over. So, I am making ridiculous conversation with Tasha to keep her focus on me like grilling her on how much she does or does not enjoy walking their dog!!

 Obviously, it worked:)

Tasha was so excited that she alternated between crying, laughing, and staring at the ring!

But, the show is not over!!! After they have a few moments together, friends and family run up on the roof to surprise Tasha and I think you could tell she was ineed surprised!

Her sisters got to her first.

And there were lots of hugs to go around as they retold their proposal story and celebrated together.

It may have taken us all a hot second to figure out the smoke bombs, but it was 100% worth it!!

After the air had cleared, friends and family headed down to a resturant to give Samantha and Tasha a few more minutes of rooftop magic.

Few things compare to getting to watch people live out moments of joy.

Samantha and Tasha: thank you for being you. THANK YOU for letting me be a part of it!
