Tips and Questions for selecting the perfect wedding venue in Kentucky
The wedding venue is often the first step you take in the planning process. Read through the find tips for finding a venue and 35 wedding venues listed by category. You can find even more wedding venue options by requesting my FREE Kentucky Wedding Venue Guide with over 125 options.
Things to do before you choose your Kentucky wedding venue:
Know your guest count before picking a venue. You want to pick a venue based on your guest count instead of basing your guest count on a venue! The most important part of the wedding day is being surrounded by the people you love the most.
Have a solid wedding budget plan. Often, couples choose their venue before any other vendor. You do not want to end blowing your budget before the planning has even really started! Sarah with Simply Love Studio recommends couples spend approximately 10% of their wedding budget on the venue.
If you already have a wedding planner or wedding photographer, reach out to them for a preferred list of venues. They work often with venues in Kentucky and will know what team will take the best care of your wedding day.
Questions to ask yourself when choosing a Kentucky wedding venue:
Do you need nearby accommodations for guests? If you plan on having alcohol at your wedding, you want to make sure your guests can get home safely. Is there a hotel nearby? Are services like Uber and Lyft available?
Do you want your ceremony and the reception in one place?
What style/vibe feels most like you as a couple?
Do you envision an outdoor or indoor wedding?
Questions to ask the venue:
What time/day do you have access to the space?
How long do you have to cleanup the space?
Do you require I work with specific vendors for things such as catering?
What parking is available?
Are any extras including such as tables and chairs?
