Every single session is different. For example, this is the first session where I have had a horse pull off the perfect photo bomb and a kitty who tried to nibble my toes! Geoff & Audra have this magical piece of land with their furry family and we got to celebrate their 10 YEARS OF MARRIAGE with a photo session at home.
We walked up behind the barn and found a nice little spot to start taking photos. Within 2 minutes of being in the field, I had a big curious nose tapping me on the shoulder. Sunday, a beautiful paint horse, wanted in on the action and was super curious about what I was doing there. I grew up on a horse farm and there is still this part of me that is just so at home with a horse. They are intelligent and kind. So, Sunday’s little horse whiskers were fine to sniff around me all he wanted! Atticus, the lovely grey horse, followed pretty soon after and all of a sudden it was a party!
During our shoot, I asked Geoff and Audra for advice on how to make a marriage work for 10 years. Audra told me they were pretty young when they got married and were not engaged very long before the wedding. Basically, all the things you would think would make it LESS likely for these two to make it. But, here they are!! Geoff told me his secret to a happy marriage was to, “let the wookiee win.” Ha!! I had to ask a few follow up questions to make sure I understood this one, but basically it means that you do not have to win everything and sometimes it is wise not to try to win;)
You can tell these two are easy-going, smiling, lovebirds! AKA: my favorite. This farm is filled with little treasures like a unique barn and adorable little apple tree. With two horses, two cats, and four dogs, I knew these two are my kind of people!
When I stepped back to get a wider shot of Geoff and Audra, Sunday took that as his CUE to jump in and pose!
