I thought I wanted to be an opera singer. I loved standing on a stage and making people laugh (yes... opera can be very funny). And I would love to tell you I had some deep, meaningful reason to pick up a camera but the truth is I wanted to get a boy's attention. Embarrassing, I know.
To celebrate their engagement, we started off in downtown Lexington and lucked out with the most perfect weather. The flowers were in bloom and the sun was shining so we got to use a few new spots I had not utilized yet downtown.
This romantic engagement session featured, the Henry Clay Estate (where Nick popped the question!), Gratz Park, and Lexington’s tiny rainbow row!

We headed north to Corydon, Indiana to capture a sweet couple in the town where they will start their life as husband and wife!
A few years ago I had my first class of students at the University of Kentucky. Now one of those students are getting married and I get to be the photographer!! We kicked it off with a beautiful session at the Kentucky Arboretum for their engagement shoot.
What really matters the most? What can I live without? What will drive me to be a better person and a better photographer?
If I had to really consolidate why photography makes me happy, it would come down to one simple thing: Joy is contagious.
This gal is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. I get to be her wedding photographer and I am so lucky to have her doing my hair and makeup for my own wedding! It is going to be a fun year!!
